About Me

Professor George Murphy is a  Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He is co-director of the St Thomas’ advanced hand surgery course, a tutor for the BSSH hand diploma, and departmental lead for research.

Professor Murphy graduated medicine from Cambridge University. In 2023, he was awarded a Hunterian Professorship for his PhD research by the Royal College of Surgeons.

Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, cooking and singing.
