He previously held an NHS consultant post at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, specialising in skin cancer and microsurgical reconstruction. Laser Genesis in London — We Do Not Offer It
Laser Genesis is Cutera’s trade name for a non-ablative 1064 nm Nd:YAG treatment, used mainly for facial redness, texture and pore appearance with essentially no downtime. London Skin Clinic does not have Cutera’s platform and does not offer Laser Genesis.
An earlier version of this page said otherwise. It was wrong, and it has been corrected.
What we do have is a 1064 nm Nd:YAG on a different platform — the Lutronic DermaV — alongside a DEKA SmartXide CO₂. Between them they cover most of what brings people to a no-downtime rejuvenation treatment, and this page explains which does what.
If You Came Here About Redness or Visible Vessels
This is what the DermaV is for. It runs at two wavelengths — 532 nm for superficial redness, thread veins and small capillaries, and 1064 nm for deeper vessels — targeting haemoglobin directly.
It is well tolerated, generally needs no anaesthetic, and does not carry the recovery of an ablative treatment. If a no-downtime option for facial redness is what you were looking for, this is the closest equivalent we offer, and it is a dedicated vascular laser rather than a general-purpose one.

If You Came Here About Texture, Pores or Fine Lines
Non-ablative treatments like Laser Genesis are marketed on doing this with no downtime. The honest trade-off is that the gentler the treatment, the less it achieves per session and the more sessions it takes.
Our lighter option is CoolPeel®, delivered on the SmartXide CO₂. It removes the damaged surface layer while leaving very little heat behind, with around 48 hours of downtime rather than none — but it does considerably more per session than a non-ablative pass.

Where the concern is deeper — established wrinkling or acne scarring — full-field CO₂ resurfacing is the appropriate treatment, and it involves a genuine recovery. We would rather set that expectation than sell a lighter treatment that will not get you there.
Patients rarely regret taking enough downtime; they regret being told they’ll recover faster than they actually do.

Why We Publish This Rather Than Quietly Removing the Page
Clinic websites routinely list treatments the clinic does not perform, because the search demand exists. It is a small dishonesty and an easy one, and it wastes the reader’s time at best.

Do you offer Laser Genesis?
No. Laser Genesis is Cutera’s trade name for a treatment on their platform, and we do not have that platform. We use the Lutronic DermaV Nd:YAG and the DEKA SmartXide CO₂.
Is the DermaV the same thing?
Not the same treatment, though it operates at 1064 nm as well as 532 nm. It is a dedicated vascular and pigment laser, used here for redness, visible vessels and pigmentation rather than as a general-purpose rejuvenation pass.
What is your closest no-downtime option?
The DermaV, for redness and vessels, requires no real recovery. For texture, CoolPeel® has around 48 hours of downtime, which is not zero but is short.
What does it cost?
DermaV is £500 to £950 depending on the area, with package rates. CoolPeel® is £900 for the first session and £300 for each further one. The consultation is £100 and comes off the treatment price if you proceed.
